An integral aspect of the Course's internationalization is the inclusion of distinguished Professors from foreign universities on the Academic Board, as well as our own esteemed Professors who currently serve as visiting professors or Senior Lecturers at prominent institutions abroad (USA, Australia, Saudi Arabia). Moreover, doctoral students have the opportunity to engage in blended intensive programmes (BIP) within the Erasmus+ 2021-2027 framework. These programmes are designed to foster research in areas such as "Sustainable Entrepreneurship: Microalgae and Human Food" (fourth edition, short name: MICROALGAE) and "Zero Waste, Infinite Possibilities: Teamwork for a Sustainable Future" (first edition, short name: Zero Waste). These initiatives facilitate collaboration among doctoral students, students, and professors from a diverse array of European and non-European countries.
Relationships with the productive sector are considered essential to provide doctoral students with training oriented towards entrepreneurship, applied research, and technology transfer. Interaction with the productive sector enables doctoral students to receive input on research topics of particular interest to businesses. Consequently, the Academic Board includes the participation of employees from both national and international companies. Collaboration with institutions and private companies is also emphasized in defining a pathway capable of training professionals with skills that meet market demands.
The Board of Advisors, recently established, consists of researchers and representatives from various professional fields, representing stakeholders in the doctorate school. Their regular interactions are considered the most effective means for maintaining constant connections with the entrepreneurial, professional, and research sectors. These interactions help to evaluate the progress of the Doctoral Research Course and its development potential.
Finally, the Doctoral Course covers many of the sustainability topics of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), which may lead to further collaborations with institutions and companies through specific funding derived from projects within the PNRR framework.
